The Croton Harmon Booster Club is a non-profit organization of volunteers in existence for over 40 years. The primary function of the Booster Club is to enhance sporting events and organize tournaments and fundraisers to benefit students of Croton-Harmon High School. Some Booster Club undertakings, past, consistent and new include:
1. Providing, cooking and serving refreshments and offering our school-spirit merchandise at games and tournaments.
2. Hosting social/spirit events:
• Meet the Coaches BBQ
• Homecoming Pasta Dinner
• Senior Sports Awards Dinner
3. Purchasing team member awards:
• end-of season and year-end
• all-state
• best-improved athlete
4. Hosting fund-raising events to provide refunds to Varsity Athletes attending summer sports camps:
• Annual Golf Outing
• Art Auction
5. Organizing and Hosting Sports Tournaments, some in memory of those for whom sports were important:
• Robert Mayclim Basketball Tournament
• Mel Darling Wrestling Tournament
• The only Girls’ Track Relay in Section 1 Athletics
6. Extending the circle of sports traditionally supported by Booster Clubs:
• Cheerleading scholarships
• Donation of start-up money for the swim team
7. Purchasing special awards for officials and coaches
8. Purchasing, or helping the School District to purchase, essential or desired athletic program
equipment. Our most recent contribution: the new multi-sport scoreboard at Spencer Field.
9. Providing seven (7) scholarships at year end to graduating seniors based on dedication, sportsmanship
and academic achievement
Goals for 2007-08 include:
a project to capture and display a complete history of Croton-Harmon Athletics
new scoreboards and shot clocks for the main gym at the high school
The Booster Club is ALWAYS in need of more volunteers, our meeting schedule is the 3rd Tuesday of each month, 7:30 pm at the CHHS faculty lounge. Schedule is also posted at www.gocrotontigers.org
